Scouting For Food 2024
Scouting For Food is an annual nationwide food drive conducted by Scouting America. Pack 508 will be participating in this service project, which helps those in need in our local community.
Key Dates
Now through Sun 10/27: Scouts will distribute door hangers along assigned routes in our neighborhood.
Sat 11/2 9:00 AM: Scouts may begin to collect food from their assigned route.
Sat 11/2 10:00 AM - noon: Drop off collected food at the Saratoga Federated Church parking lot.

Review this Google Map which shows the detailed routes assigned to our pack. A snapshot is also at the bottom of this page.
Use this Google Sheet to select your specific route.
Subscribe to our Scouting For Food WhatsApp group. We will use this group for coordination and to answer any questions.
Do's
A parent should accompany the Scout during this activity.
Scouts must wear their class A uniforms.
It's ok to just leave the door hanger and quietly walk away. If the homeowner is out in front or comes out, your Scout should introduce themself, let them know they’re from Cub Scout Pack 508 of Saratoga, and that they would like to leave some information about donating food.
Skip apartment buildings (our routes shouldn’t contain any).
Stick to your route for both dropping off and picking up food.
Scouts are responsible for picking up food at any house where they leave a door hanger. If something happens where a Scout can’t pick up, please message the Scouting For Food WhatsApp group.
Don'ts
Don’t approach homes with “do not enter” or “no soliciting” signs.
Don't walk on people’s lawns or plants. Stay on the paths.
